FOMO is an acronym for “fear of missing out.” Teen drivers feel pressure to respond immediately to texts and notifications in fear of missing something important.

This “always on” lifestyle can have deadly consequences. “Today’s hyper-connected teens may be more plugged into their devices than the actual driving task.

When you combine FOMO with driver inexperience, the likelihood of a crash rises dramatically.

Teach your teen driver that it’s NOT OK to answer that one call or respond to that one text. It can wait. Anything that takes your child’s eyes off the road is a potentially fatal danger.
