Can I use my out-of-state permit to take driving lessons?

Out-of-state permit

No. All students must have a Georgia learner’s permit to take driving lessons or a road test with us.

Note: If you've previously held a permit in another state, the original issue date from that state will still count toward the 1 year and 1 day requirement for testing eligibility in Georgia.

Also, per DDS regulations, you must bring a physical Georgia permit to your lesson. Digital permits are not accepted.
