Congratulations! Your teen has successfully completed the 30-hour Driver’s Ed class - a major milestone toward earning their driver's license. Now it’s time to move forward with in-car driving lessons.

Next Steps: Drive Scout Account Activation

We’ll activate your Drive Scout account for online scheduling within 3–5 business days after the last day of class. This gives our team time to confirm we have all required documentation - including your teen’s exam results, learner’s permit, and signed contract - to meet DDS compliance.

Once activated, you’ll receive an email from Drive Scout letting you know your account is live and ready for online scheduling of driving lessons.

FAQs

1. How long do we have to book lessons?
You have two years from the date of your original purchase to complete all driving sessions.

2. How should we space out the lessons?
We recommend the following approach for skill development:

· Schedule your first drive within 90 days of finishing the classroom or Zoom

course.

· Leave 30–60 days between lessons to allow time to practice and build

experience.

· Many students save their final drive for 30–60 days before their road test, so

they can practice specific test skills like parallel parking.

3. When should new drivers with less than 20 hours of experience schedule lessons?
We recommend scheduling during non-peak traffic hours - typically between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays, or anytime on weekends.

Avoid booking nighttime drives unless your teen already has 20+ hours of driving experience.

4. My teen has less than 10 hours of driving experience. Should we book a driving lesson?
We recommend that your teen have at least 10 hours of driving experience before scheduling their first professional lesson. This ensures our instructors can focus on more advanced skills -such as lane changes, navigating intersections, and managing space - rather than spending the full two hours in a parking lot or residential neighborhood covering basic driving. Our goal is to build on a solid foundation and help your teen become a safer, more confident driver.
