The Georgia Department of Driver Services allows driving schools to become certified third-party test facilities. It’s very convenient and can save hours of waiting at the DDS.

Who can take an on-site road test at Drive Smart Georgia?

16 & 17-year olds:

Per DDS regulations, 16- and 17-year-old students must complete a 30-hour Drivers Ed course (at our school, another school or online) and at least 6 hours of driving lessons at Drive Smart Georgia prior to scheduling an on-site road test.

Please keep in mind that the Department of Driver Services states that the earliest we can schedule your actual road test is 12 months and a day from your teen's permit issue date.

Age 18 & Older:

  • Due to a new Georgia Law, Drive Smart Georgia can now test anyone 18 years or older for their driver’s license.

  • Avoid the hassle of the DDS by taking the road test for your Georgia driver’s license at one of our convenient locations.

  • You must have a valid learner’s permit to take the road test.

  • You are not required to take any driving lessons.

  • The fee is $149.

To schedule your on-site road test, please call the office during our regular business hours Monday - Friday from 10am - 4pm.
